ABOUT ME

My name is Antionette Rivera and I am an undergraduate student at Old Dominion University. I chose to attend Old Dominion University because it has a great nursing program, I was offered a merit scholarship, and it is close to where I live.  I currently am a member of Old Dominion’s Chapter of Phi Eta Sigma and the Perry Honors College. I am majoring in nursing and minoring in human services. I was working as a medical scribe at Pariser Dermatology for a year to gain experience with documenting. Once I graduate from Old Dominion University, I plan on working as an intermediate care nurse. After at least a year of nursing experience, I plan on working as an intensive care nurse for three years and then I will apply to a graduate program so that I can become a nurse anesthetist. I have always wanted  to be a nurse because I love helping people and I want to make a difference in people’s lives. To achieve my goal, I will continue to do well in all of my courses and continue to volunteer at places that will prepare me for the nursing field. My goal is to graduate ODU by May 2020 and to be a nurse anesthetist by the year 2028.
